It’s that time again!
I’m about to enter my fifth year in business, and this year has been a truly transformational one.
After dropping $10k on a 1:1 business coach last December, I’ve gone through so many periods of growth and expansion, and the results of which are that I’m doing less in my business, and I’ve TRIPLED my annual income once again!
But this time, I haven’t gone from making $80 to $8,000. I’ve gone from making $8k to $30k.
And the way that I did this was by doing LESS in my business. Not only am I working less and making more, but I have my weekends back, my life back, and I’m enjoying the freedom lifestyle I originally set out to have!
So, let me share three things that I ditched this year to cultivate these incredible results:
1) I stopped back-to-back launching
Back in November of 2020, I took a big risk and decided to take an entire three months to launch my book launch course.
Before this, my launches had been a back-to-back monthly occurrence, and usually lasted four weeks each. But only once in a blue moon would I actually sell out a program.
It was exhausting and led to burnout, so I knew it was time to do things differently. And choosing to do a three month launch required a ton of trust, because it meant I didn’t have an offer immediately lined up to make sales off of, and I needed to trust that there would be a big payoff at the end of those 12 weeks.
The results were something I’d never seen before: I sold 9/10 spots to the course in the first 24 hours of doors opening, and we were completely sold out by the end of the launch period.
It was, hands down, the easiest launch I’ve ever had in my life, and from that moment, I decided that was how we’d be doing things moving forward. I decided exactly which programs I was going to be launching, how frequently, and stuck to longer launch timelines, and I haven’t looked back since!
2) I stopped offering my 1:1 coaching
This is a big one! About halfway through the year, I realised that I wasn’t lit up by 1:1 coaching (and furthermore, had always had an intuitive gut feeling that it wasn’t the best option to offer for authors anyway.)
Years of being in the coaching industry and following other leaders led me to believe that I *had* to have a 1:1 package, and that it needed to be my signature offer. This was the thing that was meant to scale me to 6 figures, but I always had an easier time booking out group programs and courses instead of my 1:1 offer.
So this year, we shut down the 1:1 coaching, and we created something completely new (and a little bit out there): The Paperback Pass!
This is an all-access pass to all of my coaching and programs for an entire year, with coaching support included. It also helped solve my back-to-back launch problem, because it gives me the freedom and flexibility to create trainings and programs for authors in real time, but without having to spend hours selling them. They are all-included in the Paperback Pass for my premium clients.
3) I stopped choke-holding my biz for evidence
The final thing I stopped doing was constantly looking for evidence that things were working and making that mean something about my ability to be successful.
This year has required a lot of trust and faith as I continue to work strategies on repeat before I see any evidence that they’re actually working. The problem before was that I would stop working a strategy, or pivot, before I gave it enough time to work because I couldn’t see physical evidence in my reality of income or clients coming through.
Now though, I’m receiving more and working less by leaning into this trust piece and sticking with my strategy no matter what. I’ve stopped trying to control every single outcome in my business, and I’m open to all the unlimited ways that clients can find me and pay me.

So, there you have it! Three things I stopped doing this year that allowed me to triple my income and receive more without doing more!
