In this week’s episode, I’m sharing August’s reading recommendations roundup where I highlight diverse titles, marginalised authors, and indie books.

This is PBK’s third Reading Recommendation Roundup! You can check out the first one here.
I’ve always been a big believer that the more you read, the better you write.
Reading is something I admittedly need to do more of, and I think we should all strive to read more books.
Paperback Kingdom is dedicated to representing people from all communities, diverse voices and marginalised voices, and as part of this committment I’m creating a monthly roundup of reading recommendations for you from indie authors, POC and LBGT+ authors.
Feel free to add these to your TBR, purchase them, support the authors, and expand your reading tastes. Remember that the more experiences we read, the better equipped we are as writers to write more inclusive stories, speak on difficult issues, and accurately represent a wide range of characters.
Books Mentioned:
- Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor
- Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender
- The Court Of Outcasts by Allison Rose
**Update 2021: I moved this to my weekly newsletter, where I now showcase even more books per month as it’s a little more managable for me to keep up with. 🙂
